Emergency Dentistry & Broken Tooth Repair Services
What is an emergency dental service?
An emergency dental service could refer to a number of dental issues. This might mean something as simple as a sore tooth or facial pain, to more serious issues like a fractured tooth or broken tooth. Some of the common emergency dental services we regularly treat at Oakville Place Dental include:
- Sore teeth
- Swollen gums/face
- Jaw pain
- Fractured/Broken tooth
- Loose crown or filling
If you think you are experiencing a dental emergency, it’s important that you contact us as soon as possible. Timely service is crucial when it comes to essentially every dental emergency. If you are currently experiencing dental emergency, please contact us immediately at (905) 842-6030.
Why is timely attention so important?
Timely attention from a skilled dentist can be the difference maker in the success of your emergency dental care. For common emergencies like loose crowns or lost fillings, it’s important for you to seek professional attention as soon as possible so that we can minimize any damage or irritation to the remaining tooth structure.
Fractured/Broken tooth emergencies
For more serious emergencies, like a tooth fracture, early professional attention might be the difference between a simple restoration, and a more involved procedure like an implant. This is due to the delicate inner structure of the tooth called the pulp. The pulp is the living tissue found in the center of the tooth containing nerves and blood vessels and is responsible for keeping your tooth alive. If a fracture is not treated quickly, the dental pulp may become infected, requiring a root canal, or even an extraction of the remaining tooth structure.
